Privacy notice

Built on Nigeria's Postcode is a programme of the Federal Ministry of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, delivered with the Nigerian Postal Service (NIPOST) and supported by 3MTT. This notice explains how we handle personal data submitted through this site, in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 (NDPA).

What we collect

The application form collects your name, email address, phone number, location, team or company name where applicable, and information about your solution, including demonstration links.

The partner form collects your organisation's name, your name, role, work contact details and information about how your organisation would like to participate.

We do not collect anything else through this site: no user accounts, tracking cookies or advertising identifiers.

What we use it for

Application details are used to review applications, select builders, run the live sessions and contact you about your application.

Partner details are used to contact your organisation about taking part in the series.

This processing is necessary to run the programme and is based on the first permission you give when you submit the form.

Your three permissions

The application form asks for three separate permissions:

  1. Run the series. We use your details to process and manage your application. This permission is required.
  2. Public showcase. You can allow us to publish your solution on the public showcase. Your listing may include your solution and team name, the problem it solves, your description, demonstration and the support you are looking for. Your phone number and email address will never be published.
  3. Partner introductions. You can allow us to share your contact details with interested partner organisations. We only share them when an organisation asks to connect, after your session, and we will tell you each time.

Saying no to the second or third permission will not affect your application or selection.

Withdrawing a permission

You can withdraw any permission at any time by emailing programs@3mttnigeria.com from the email address used for your application and quoting your reference code.

Where your data is stored and who can access it

Applications are stored in a managed database. Access is limited to the small programme team from the Ministry, NIPOST and 3MTT responsible for reviewing applications and running the series.

Transactional emails, such as your application confirmation and reference code, are sent through an email delivery provider that processes your email address only for that purpose.

We do not sell your data or share it beyond what is described above and in the permissions you provide.

How long we keep your data

Applications remain in view for the duration of the series, including consideration for later sessions.

After the series ends, application data is kept for programme reporting for up to 12 months, after which it is deleted.

If you have a live public showcase listing, the listing information remains published until you ask us to remove it.

Live demonstrations

Live sessions are streamed publicly on YouTube.

Builders will be asked to use test or rehearsed records only. Demonstrations must not show API keys, real personal data or anyone's home location.

Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act, you can:

To make a request, email programs@3mttnigeria.com with your reference code. We will respond within 30 days.
